The new iPhone 4S has a great camera for a smartphone. With a app or two, anyone can make amazing panoramic photographs. Four vertical images of the Black River were taken on iPhone 4S using Camera+ app with about 25% overlap in each image. The images were merged together with the AutoStitch iOS app.

Canstruction 2011 – The Arizona WildCANS

I got a chance to participate in a fun event that benefitted the Tucson Community Food Bank last weekend. The Southern Arizona Chapter of American Institute of Architects(AIA) hosted a Canstruction Event for Architecture Week 2011. Teams participating in Canstruction obtain donations to buy can food and use the food to build a structure. After displaying the structure for a week, all the cans are donated to the Food Bank. I was a member of The Arizona WildCANS team. We used approximately 2,400 cans of food to build this structure.

On the photography side, I recently purchased a intervalometer (made by Vellos) for my Canon EOS 7D. With the intervalometer I can set the number of shots and what interval to take the shots. For this video, I took 2362 photos at every 5 seconds with the camera set on manual. I’ve adjust the settings because of the changes in the light from 7:00AM to 10:15AM.
